Stand on any Dubai street and you notice the din of 24-hour construction is not as deafening as it once was. Traffic that once saw Dubai labelled the Middle East's most congested city has eased. Queues are shorter, rents lower. From Western bankers making 10,000 dollars a month to Asian labourers earning 100 dollars a month, a downturn in the former Gulf boomtown has seen thousands of people laid off in recent months. With more than 80 percent of its population hailing from outside the United Arab Emirates federation and residing there on three-year work visas, those who lose their jobs often have little choice but to go elsewhere in search of a living. But those at the lower end of the income spectrum, like one Egyptian labourer, cannot even afford to return. "I can't leave. I don't have ...

(20 Apr 2017) LEADIN: The president of Emirates says the airline remains committed to the US market despite plans to slash 20 percent of its flights. The decision follows tougher security and visa measures put in place under the Trump administration STORYLINE: The Middle East's largest airline is clipping its wings with regard to some flights into the United States. Emirates has announced it will cut 20 percent of its current flights to US cities. But the President of Emirates, Tim Clark says the airline has no intention of pulling out of the US market. "This is what I consider to be a temporary situation, I do not see this to be a paradigm shift in what we're doing with regards to the markets into the United States or out of the United States." Emirates said Wednesday it was cutting flights to five US cities and blamed the move on stiffer US security measures and attempts to ban travellers from some Muslim-majority nations since President Donald Trump took office. Dubai was one of 10 cities in Muslim-majority countries affected by a ban on laptops and other personal electronics in carry-on luggage aboard US-bound flights. The UAE carrier recently announced it will loan tablets and laptops to business and first class passengers flying to the United States. Clark says the airline has worked to mitigate the inconvenience caused to passengers by the ban. However he says the Trump administration made a decision based on what they perceived as a clear and present threat, and that Emirates will comply with the new rules. Clark declined to detail how much of a financial hit Emirates has taken over the past three months, but he described the reduction in passenger demand as "significant". The cuts will reduce the number of US-bound flights from Dubai to 101, down from 126 currently. Twice daily Emirates flights to Boston, Los Angles and Seattle will be reduced to once a day. Daily flights to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando will be pared down to five per week. Like its smaller Gulf rivals Qatar Airways and Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways, Emirates has ramped up its US presence in recent years and recently launched a new service to Newark via Athens. Several big US carriers have bristled at the Gulf airlines' US push, accusing them of flooding the market with capacity while receiving billions of dollars of unfair government subsidies. The Gulf airlines deny the allegations. "Well they would say that wouldn't they? And we've had two and a half years of this, and as we have grown our capacity, successfully introduced more cities successfully, and grown our profits successfully this constant tirade comes at us, and we're getting used to it now," says Clark. US airline executives made a personal pitch to Trump earlier this year to restrict Gulf carriers' access after failing to persuade the Obama administration to curb their expansion. Clark made a point to take a jab at United Airlines, which is part of a campaign opposing more US routes for Gulf carriers, over its handling of an overbooked passenger hauled from a flight. "And the United disgraceful episode was a classic case of how corporate culture has a, indicates that that particular company has lost the plot with regards to what it should be doing, basically the right thing, by their passengers," he says. The latest travel ban by the US suspended new visas for people from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen, and froze the nation's refugee program. Like an earlier ban that also included Iraqi citizens, it has been blocked from taking effect by the courts. Flood recalled that MasterCard started as a not-for-profit organisation before going through a series of transitions to prepare itself for the position it is in today. Airbus Corporate Jet Airbus began as a commercial airliner manufacturer, but, after years of experience and success, branched into the corporate ultra-long-range private jet sector with the Airbus A319 Corporate Jetliner (A319CJ). It is a part of the A320 jet family, whose four members collectively have been used by more than twenty airlines, including Frontier Airlines and Air France. The A319CJ is smaller and lighter than the commercial airliner version, giving owners global range capabilities. The A319CJ is a slightly modified version of the A319, an airliner that had more than 130 seats. The corporate version is usually configured to hold eighteen passengers, but exact interior configurations can vary greatly according to an individual’s preference. The cabin is 78 feet long, 12.2 feet wide and 7.4 feet high, and has a total cabin volume of 5,900 cubic feet. No other private jets have wider or higher cabins, although the Boeing Business Jet does outstrip the A319CJ in length. The A319CJ was designed for heads of state and top corporate executives, so nothing in the cabin falls short in terms of luxury. The cabin is generally divided into VIP quarters, complete with an office, bathroom and shower and bed; and a high-density passenger seating area. The three zones of the private jet (cockpit, VIP area, and main seating area) have separate temperature controls to ensure that all individuals remain comfortable. Boeing Business Jet The Boeing Business Jet is a member of the venerated 737 family. The 737s collectively have over 60 million hours of flight time and are still in high demand in the commercial aviation market. The BBJ sold more than one hundred planes in just four years of production, and orders continue to come in. No other private jet offers as much cabin space or reliability. After all, the BBJ is a descendant of commercial aircraft, designed to last decades. The Boeing Business Jet’s full name is the BBJ 737-700 IGW. IGW stands for “Increased Gross Weight,” much of which is due to its massive cabin and increased fuel capacity. The cabin has more square footage than some offices – 807 square feet – and measurements well beyond any other private jet: 79.2 feet long, 7.1 feet high and 11.6 feet wide. The total cabin volume is 5,390 cubic feet. The 5,390 cubic feet of cabin can be configured almost any way desired. Most configurations divide the cabin into four compartments (in addition to a crew rest area). The four compartments generally consist of a board room, a lounge, a VIP bedroom (with a queen-sized bed, if desired), a business office, and two lavatories with showers. Alternate suggested configurations include an office and an exercise room, high-density seating for sixty passengers, or twenty-four extra-large seats for sleeping Music : High Rule - Vlog No Copyright Music Another Videos : Brutal landing ever - Crosswind landing compilation 2017 https://youtu.be/tVVkyzfpCv0 Top 10 Low Cost Airline Skytrax Rated (Part2) HD https://youtu.be/B5w-CBtW5xA Top 10 Low Cost Airline Skytrax Rated (Part1) HD https://youtu.be/TCPu4Sbe-rc Skytrax World's Best Airline Alliance (HD) https://youtu.be/hxFSCr81fvE 5-Star Airlines Skytrax Rated 2017 in alphabetical order (HD) https://youtu.be/0XCo51vZwvg Top 5 Best Fighter Aircraft in the World 2017 (HD) https://youtu.be/JvR27Y6VQE8 Boeing 747-8 vs Airbus A380 (HD) https://youtu.be/9qPdWFJObEM Airbus A320Neo Vs Boeing 737 Max, awesome flight demo ever (HD) https://youtu.be/G55Gl2pf8uM Boeing 777X Vs Airbus 330neo (HD) https://youtu.be/j93ux4YSEaI Boeing 737 MAX Vs Airbus A320 NEO https://youtu.be/155plOkKvc0 Airbus Beluga Vs. I don't have the money to leave or to eat. I've been here for two months, and now they don't know what to do with me, whether to send me back or put me to work," one Egyptian labourer said. Many labour camps are eerily vacant as more labourers are forced back home, "To Let" signs have propped up on some camps. Mohammed Ali, a Labour Camp director, says the stumbling economy has hit the construction sector hard. "Construction companies have been the hardest hit by the crisis. The bulk of the work that was available from around six months ago which approached 150 to 200 billion dirhams now (4.2 billion to 5.5 billion dollars), is down to about a third, or less than half. If the workload drops, then of course the demand for workers drops and this is an obvious relationship," he said. Financial firm UBS recently predicted that the UAE population would fall by 8 percent in 2009 and 2 percent in 2010 as the downturn bites. Even wealthier executives cannot stay in Dubai without work, since residency visas are only granted to those who are employed and only residents can rent a flat or buy a car. Many are forced to sell what they can of their belongings and go. Stories abound of unemployed expatriates abandoning their cars at the airport and flying home, unable to repay loans from hedonistic spending during prosperous times. Dubai police insist only 11 cars were abandoned at the airport in the past year but the rumour itself is a testament to how low sentiments have sunk. Dr. Mohammed Abu-Ali, Assistant Professor of Economics at the American University of Dubai, warned more redundancies were imminent. "There is slow moving in some projects and there is freezing of some mega-projects. So we'll see less recruitment, maybe laying off some of the unskilled labour," he said. Today's job fears are a far cry from the heady boom years when, supported by record oil revenues in the world's top crude-exporting region, Dubai catapulted itself into the global spotlight with ambitious projects such as the world's tallest tower and man-made islands in the shape of palms. Lured by the promise of tax-free earnings and year-round sunshine in a glamorous seaside city, hundreds of thousands of Western expatriates flocked to Dubai. Its population burgeoned and demand for housing drove rents and property prices sky high. Even after the credit crunch slowed down economies in the United States and Europe, many felt that wealth accumulated from years of record oil prices would cushion the Gulf from the blow. But in recent months, the building boom has come to an end and hundreds of millions of dollars worth of UAE projects have been suspended. Indian nationals, many of them labourers, are widely believed to comprise the largest single national group in Dubai. With India's economy expected to grow some 7 percent this fiscal year compared to under 2.5 percent in Dubai, Indians may have more incentive to seek jobs at home. Venu Rajamony, India's consul general in Dubai, said many are now returning to the subcontinent. "For a large number of unskilled and skilled people, we give permissions from the consulate to enable people recruit in India and bring people over. That has drastically fallen down, from around 3,000 people a month, for whom we used to give permission, so that's about 3,500. Three thousand group visas and 500 individual visas we gave, say in the early months of 2008, by the end of the year. And in January of this year we gave permission only for about 220," he said. In the 1930s, the pearl trade that had been the mainstay of Gulf Arab countries collapsed owing to the invention of cheaper cultured pearls and falling global demand due to the Great Depression. Then too, the foreign workers attracted by that industry left.
